La naissance d'une idée - The birth of an idea
En Mars 1994 à Épinal, dans les Vosges, Astier inaugure le tableau 2ème Millénaire qui préfigure le premier tableau du 21ème siècle.
En Juillet 1994 il dépose officiellement le nom "premier tableau du 21ème siècle" (cf. Images).
L'année suivante il réalise Leurre avant l'heure dont l'esthétique inspirera le premier tableau du 21ème siècle.
Il travaille ensuite en 1996 sur la notion de "supra-surface" thème primordiale de son oeuvre. Il produira ainsi plusieurs ébauches.
En 1997, le tableau Leurre avant l'heure est couvert d'une peinture phosphorescente et devient Lueur du Premier Tableau du 21ème siècle.
2001 : création de 00.00.01 01.01.01 le premier tableau du 21ème siècle.
Lors de la pose du tableau à un emplacement définitif la partie grise du tableau sera recouverte de feuille de cuivre achevant ainsi l'oeuvre
In March 1994 in Épinal in the Vosges département, France, Astier inaugurates the painting 2ème Millénaire (2nd Millenium).
In July 1994 the trademark for "the first painting of the 21rst century" is registered (see images).
The next year paints Leurre avant l'heure. The design will inspire the first painting of the 21rst century years later.
Then in 1996 Astier starts to work on the concept of "supra surface" with the creation of several sketches.
In 1997 the painting Leurre avant l'heure is covered with phosphorescent paint and becomes Glow of the first painting of the 21rst century.
2001 : creation of 00.00.01 01.01.01 the first painting of the 21rst century.
When the permanent display location of 00.00.01 01.01.01 is determined Astier will cover the grey part with copper leaf and ultimately complete the piece of work.
